Adam Curry, a former VJ on MTV? He created podcasting and is credited with being the daddy of the movement. I’ve had a soft spot for the guy since I was little so the podcasting thing just makes it all the better.

Podcasts have come a long way, baby, in a short period of time. People listen to them on mp3 players, their computer, in their cars… the list goes on. You do NOT need to have an iPod to listen to a podcast. Anywhere you can listen to an MP3 or audio file, you can listen to a podcast.

Podcasts also cover just about any topic out there. The quality of them varies. You can find educational ones, entertaining ones, informative ones. You name it, they have it. They even have a ton of music ones helping to launch new bands. It’s truly endless.

One of the ways you can subscribe to podcasts (they are free) is to use iTunes. Again, you do NOT need to have an iPod to use iTunes. There are plenty of other podcast places that give you index lists and the ability to subscribe to a podcast feed. I’ll get a list of the most popular ones and post that in future Marketing with Mandy-Podcasts posts. Here are a few to get you started.
