Here are a few of the covers I’ve been working on. These are all for Samhain Publishing.
I really can’t decide which is my favorite. I like them all for different reasons. If I get a chance, I’ll post some more after final approval.

Hell If I Know What It Should Be Labeled
Caridad Pineiro– Time!
As a working woman – one with two careers – the thing that is most precious to me is time. Time to be with my family. Time to be with my friends. Time to write. Sometimes that’s hard because twelve or more hours of my day are devoted to commuting and working at my day job – being an attorney.
So how do I find the time to do not only all that I need to do, but also all that I want to do?
For starters I try to make the most of the time that I have and use it effectively. For example, I’m a television junkie. Whether I’m cooking, cleaning or writing, I’ll be watching one of the shows that I didn’t get to see during the week and recorded. On weekdays after dinner is done, if hubby and I are watching a ball game, I’ll try to sneak in some website updates or do other busy work necessary for my writing career.

Hell If I Know What It Should Be Labeled
Come check it out! Listen to Julie K. Rose’s podcast! She interviewed me about what I listen to when I write. She’s featuring the playlist from Demonic Desires. In honor of the event, I’ll be giving away one PDF copy of Demonic Desires to a lucky winner.
How do I enter?
Glad you asked. You can comment about the podcast either here (in this thread or in Julie’s thread for it). Comment more than once and you’re entered more than once. Its not a long podcast so I promise it won’t take up too much of your time.

Hell If I Know What It Should Be Labeled
I finally broke down and bought a new camera. It was time. For all the technology we have at the Roth house, we seem to sorely lack anything in the way of a good digital camera. I think I found one I like.
Check out these quick pics. I think the camera will work out just fine.

Hell If I Know What It Should Be Labeled
If you haven’t already guessed, I’m a very visual person. I tend to keep file folders of stock images and the like, that resemble or remind me of characters. I often have these open on the laptop next to where I’m working and I affectionately refer to this old computer as the "picture bitch". There are times though that I have a character in mind and I really, really, really want a representation that is much closer to my mental image than what I’m finding. In these cases, I find myself taking time out to "make the hero". I take the image and tweak it according to my character.
Tell me, is he extra hunky after the tweaks or is it just me?
You can see the tweaks are minor but as far as my character, they certainly fit him more. He has the tattooed bands on arms, he had hair a bit longer and wilder. He has blue eyes verses brown.
Alright, enough playing for me. I’m off to write this book.

This is your last chance to buy some of Mandy’s books before they come out of contract. Some have limited print copies available. Be sure to head over and check them out before it’s too late!

Gwyneth Stevens Book 2: THE ENCHANTRESS
Paranormal Thriller
When the Siren calls, the men follow. Led by the song of the Enchantress men will do almost anything, including kill the one they love.
When Caleb is called away to track the Enchantress, Gwen is left in the hands of her new best friends, Caradoc and James. Sick, and alone, Gwen finds herself plagued by bizarre dreams involving Pallo and robed monks. The dreams take on a sexual nature, and when Gwen is left mating with Pallo’s vampire side, she finds out things are not always as they appear.

WICKED LUCIDITY
Paranormal Romance
When Karri-Lynn O’Higgins is offered a small slice of normalcy, she goes for it. She wasn’t looking for a relationship and she sure as hell wasn’t looking to fall in love.
Something about Riston Wallace calls to her on a level Karri can’t deny. He’s everything she wants in a man expect for one thing–he’s a nice guy. What happened to her wish list? Tall, dark and deadly? He got the tall and dark part right.
She soon learns that there’s more to Riston than meets the eye. Much more. In a world where sanity is as relative as what defines evil, Karri finds herself being forced to come to terms with her past and her future.

And be sure to check out my partner in crime:

Tribes of the Vampire 3: ETERNALLY BOUND

Lords of the Var 3: THE BOUND PRINCE

Hell If I Know What It Should Be Labeled
Any of you who have read my blog know I’ve been fighting with my new laptop and its up arrow key. Its in a funky place, taking half of what is normally the rt shift key on any other keyboard. This means that almost every time I’m typing, I accidentally hit the up arrow key when aiming for shift and it deletes all I’ve done or pastes in what I’d typed before. Any way you look at it, it screws me up. It was so bad that I was going to sell my brand new laptop on ebay and buy a different one.
After some searching I found a great little program called SharpKeys (I actually found this because I’ve been using one of my Mac keyboards on my desktop PC and it doesn’t have Printscreen buttons or some other buttons key to just windows computers). I happened upon a forum and an artist there was talking about loading sharpkeys and using it to tweak the keyboard while on his pc so he could use the same keyboard on all his computers without a problem. Any of you who do a lot of photoshop and bounce between a mac and a pc know know confusing the quick keys can get.
Anyways, to make a long story a little less long, I gave it a try on my laptop.
The program allowed me to toggle off the up arrow key. I’m still trying to figure out a way to possibly tweak that option so it doesn’t apply while Photoshop is the active program but if I can’t, that’s fine. I’m willing to live without the up arrow key for the sake of my sanity.
Big thanks to randyrants.com for the step by step instructions he lists as well as tips and tricks.
I’m attempting to use AutoKeys to narrow down the issue but I’m a little lost. Cross your fingers for me.
I know I’m not the only one who is having a love/hate relationship with certain keys on my keyboard. My Samhain editor, Angela James, is having trouble with a key on her asus. I’ll let you know if she’s able to get it working to her liking as well.
