About Mandy
Mandy M. Roth grew up fascinated by creatures that go bump in the night. From the very beginning, she showed signs of creativity. At age five, she had her first piece of artwork published. Writing came into play early in her life as well. Over the years, the two mediums merged and led her to work in marketing. Combining her creativity with her passion for horror has left her banging on the keyboard into the wee hours of the night. Mandy lives with her husband and three children on the shores of Lake Erie, where she is currently starting work on her Master’s Degree. (more…

What attracted you to writing books with paranormal elements?
MP:
I love the mystery of the unexplained. In our era of science and logic, much of the myths and superstitions of life have been explained away or ignored. I like the idea of more being out there, more that we don’t know and can’t understand. I also like the idea of immortality, of power and freedom. (more…

What attracted you to writing books with paranormal elements?
I love being able to do whatever I wanted in my paranormal world, and having heroes and heroines who have experienced centuries of life allows me to really explore their characters, and the hazy line between good and bad. (more…

Lori Foster writes dark fantasy under the name LL Foster and is a member of the new virtual authors group, Dark Muse Society. You can visit her and fellow authors in the virtual world, here.

What attracted you to writing books with paranormal elements?
Horror/urban fantasy is always entertaining! A mediocre horror movie is often better than a good comedy or drama. I LOVE all things scary/suspenseful, and the possibilities involved with paranormal expand the boundaries of plotlines. (more…

An interview with Sara Reinke

Sara Reinke is a member of the new virtual authors group, Dark Muse Society. You can visit her and fellow authors in the virtual world, here.

What attracted you to writing books with paranormal elements?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn toward genres with other-worldly elements, be it fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, etc. For example, when I was very young, maybe second grade, I wrote a series of stories in spiral-bound notebooks about a trio of unicorns who were sent on different adventures at the behest of the Greek goddess Athena. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (permission to forward granted)

Paranormal romance readers — you’re invited! When Halloween is over, the REAL celebration of Darkness will begin…

Beyond the rusted iron gates, moaning and creaking in the midnight breeze, lies an old and empty house. Trees strangled to death by the vines that enslave them line your path to the front door. The house is dark, encased in its own shadows—an unwelcoming entrance to say the least.

You feel a prickling working its way down the back of your neck as you pick your way overrotting roots and dark debris. The lump that has risen within of your throat makes you second-guess each step towards the shadowy front porch. Taking the steps slowly, one by one, your hand trembles as it reaches out for the doorknob. If you love your romance on the dark side, you’re going to feel right at home here…

Step inside the Dark Muse Society, a unique, interactive online community that’s home to some of your favorite paranormal fiction authors. The Society officially opens its doors on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2007, with contests, giveaways and your chance to meet the group’s charter members — L.L. FOSTER, DANIELLE DEVON, ERIN McCARTHY, MICHELLE PILLOW, DEVYN QUINN, MANDY M. ROTH and SARA REINKE.

Visit www.darkmusesociety.com for information and details about the grand opening celebration. The fun begins at 7 p.m. (EST, US) and last until 9 p.m. so mark your calendars and don’t be afraid of the dark!
