Nocturnal Journal–Mandy M. Roth

RT 07 was a ton of fun. I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time as I wanted to with everyone and I didn’t make it to all the workshops I wanted to go to. Next year, I’m writing out the things I want to attend and shutting off my cell phone to be sure I don’t get sidetracked. LOL.

The parties were fun. I attended the EC party, the Fairy Ball and Vampires of the West. Big thanks to Dobby and Deb for nabbing me some great centerpieces! Can you all imagine what airport security had to say about them?

The great cake hunt. Renee’ gets a big shout out for going on a birthday cake hunt around downtown Houston with me at the crack of dawn. She jumped in the cab with me and did our version of supermarket sweep when we got to the store. It was hilarious. In fact, Renee’ had me in stitches most of the time! I have to be extra nice to her, she has incriminating photos of me. LMAO

I can say that I didn’t require drugs to get home on the plane. I’m super proud of that. Yes, I did need a few drinks. I’m working on that but really, the fact I didn’t yell “we’re all gonna die” speaks volumes to the progress I’m making by way of flying.

Okay, I’m home now. RT 2007 was a BLAST! I had so much fun getting to see everyone! Apparently, I had a little too much fun involving the removal of my pantyhose in the lobby but we’ll save that story for another day. I also had a bit of a chair debate with some rather “sweet” women who seemed to want to muscle us out of our table at the bar. Needless to say… I still had the chair in the end. Other than that… I behaved myself! I also went on a hunt for a birthday cake while there. Let me say downtown Huston on a Saturday morning doesn’t make for the easiest cake finding.
